Having collected two new diamond certifications yesterday, Bruno Mars is now the first artist ever to secure five diamond-certified singles. Just two days ago, he and Eminem had three each.
Marshall has two albums and three singles certified diamond. He was the first artist to receive two digital diamond certifications that counted both sales and streams of 10 million and above.
“Not Afraid” was the first one to obtain diamond status in June 2014. “Love The Way You Lie (feat. Rihanna)” and “Lose Yourself” followed suit later, in February 2018. Moreover, the “Love The Way You Lie” count goes even beyond the 10x platinum needed to get the diamond certificate, it was recognised as 12x platinum.
Maybe, this friendly competition from Bruno Mars will make Marshall’s label finally update his certification. We’ll see how much new ice he has.
