G.O.O.D. Music was in the building when Big Sean stopped by AXS TV’s “SKEE Live” in L.A. on Tuesday. While his fans watched from outside the studio, the newly-engaged rapper sat down with DJ Skee to discuss his philosophy on life, his favorite sneakers (BAPE adidas), and growing up in Detroit.
He also addressed critics, who claim he sold out by working with pop acts like Justin Bieber. “Fuck that shit. I don’t care about that,” said Sean. “I feel like I worked too hard to not get paper and work with the biggest artists in the world. It’s not like I compromised myself on it.”
The Hall of Fame rapper, who is engaged to Naya Rivera, wouldn’t reveal when he’s getting married, but did thank his fans for their support. “Thanks for those good wishes,” he said.
Over the summer, he hit the studio with his Detroit idol Eminem, but they have yet to record a collaboration. “We were scheduled to record it, but we didn’t get to it yet,” he said. “I’m sure we’ll connect. But they show love, they support. He looked at me and told me, ‘I listen to you, I support you.’”
