HipHopDX editorial staff compiled a list of the most notable R&B and rap songs released since January 2020. Two tracks released by Marshall in January and July were selected to the list together with seven other songs from Shady circle.

These are “Yah Yah” off Em’s latest album “Music To Be Murdered By” and Kid Cudi‘s joint with Eminem “The Adventures Of Moon Man & Slim Shady”. Here are the introductions the publication gave to the songs:

“The Adventures Of Moon Man & Slim Shady” – Kid Cudi f. Eminem
In an unexpected collaboration of Hip Hop greats, Mr. Rager tapped the real Slim Shady for Cudi’s first single since the Travis-assisted hit “The Scotts.” Em pulled inspiration from a variety of pop-culture moments, including the COVID-19 pandemic, George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery and Drew Brees’ controversial comments. Cudi and Eminem are sonically different, but the two blend together exceptionally well for a shit-talking anthem.

“Yah Yah” – Eminem
Eminem recruited some of the best to ever do it — Black Thought, Royce Da 5’9 and Q-Tip — for an epic posse cut that stands out as one of the shining moments of Slim Shady’s surprise album Music To Be Murdered By.

There are other artists from Shady circle featured on the list. Special extended mentions went to Pop Smoke’s “The Woo” feat. Roddy Ricch & 50 Cent off Smoke’s posthumous album executively produced by Fifty. The Alchemist wast mentioned three times: his joint album with Freddie Gibbs “Alfredo” contributed two songs to the list – “Skinny Suge” and “Something To Rap About” feat. Tyler The Creator. The third Alchemist’s song – “They Got Sonny” – came from his collaborative project with another Shady Records artist, Griselda’s Conway The Machine. Obviously, this is not the only appearance of Griselda on this list, as Westside Gunn contributed “George Bondo” from his epic album “Pray For Paris”. Westside Gunn is featured again on “Welfare” off RMR’s debut album “Drug Dealing Is A Lost Art”. There is also a special entry for Slaughterhouse MCs Kxng Crooked and Joell Ortiz who released their “H.A.R.D.” EP earlier this year.

Another their track from this EP, “Memorial Day” got a shout out in an “Honourable Mentions” section, together with “Black Savage” off “The Allegory” that Royce Da 5’9” released in February.
