To promote the release of his brand new album Ether, B.o.B took to Reddit for an AMA (ask me anything). While the majority of the questions involved references to the rapper’s infamous foray into scientific theory, he did field a few hip hop related ones. When asked about his favorite album in the past fifteen years, B.o.B answered Eminem’s “The Eminem Show”.
That’s some big praise, considering the amount of quality that’s dropped during the past fifteen years. B.o.B and Eminem have previously collaborated on Airplanes 2 and the alleged Relapse 2 cut “Things Get Worse”.
What is your favorite hip-hop album of the last 15 years?
B.o.B: probably The Eminem Show
What was the most influential moment in rap career so far?
B.o.B: Performing for Jay Z and Eminem and realizing that everyone in the crowd had been listening to them for 10+ years
For someone that it’s starting listening to hip-hop in a regular basis what albums do you think are essential to listen?
B.o.B: You definitely need to listen to a lot of Eminem’s first albums, DMX’s first albums, a lot of Lil Waynes (like Tha Carter 1), definitely gotta listen to Kendrick, and the Elements project in totality
Hey B.o.B, of all the legends you’ve collaborated with (Andre 3000, T.I., Wayne, Eminem, Lupe, etc) who was your favorite to work with?
B.o.B: I really like working with 2pac and Michael Jackson.
What do ya’ll think about B.o.B’s selection? Is TES a valid choice, or do you think B.o.B needs to do some reevaluating?
