After the fantastic Super Bowl Halftime show performance, Eminem spent some time mixing with celebrities and people working on the show in the NBC trailer. This was when he met a television sportscaster who has been the voice of football for over four decades.
Marshall looked awestruck, describing to Michaels how surreal it was for him to witness the Rams playing at their home stadium in the presence of this legendary commentator. But Michaels wanted to share his own excitement and declared to Em:
You’re the best in the show.
Marshall parried and admitted that he had been Michaels’ fan for a long time:
You’re the GOAT, man. I’m telling you, I was telling your wife — since I was a little kid, all the way until now, I watch shitty games when you’re doing them. There is a rumour that you’ll retire. You’re a long way from retiring.
