Ab-Soul, the one of Black Hippy who probably gained less popularity than his crew mates Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q, is, however, no less interesting or masterful than them.

He proved it again in his new surprise single “Dangerookipawaa Freestyle”.

The freestyle is probably meant to be a birthday gift to Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, CEO of Top Dawg Entertainment, Ab-Souls label, as Dangerookipawaa is Tiffith’s nickname. At the same time, it is clever and smug praise of Ab-Souls own skills and talents.

He drops Marshall’s name in the very first verse, referring probably both to the unexpected nature of this release and its devastating power:

Soulo ho the prophecy, I got a premonition
I’ma let the beat build and do some demolition
Interrupt your whole style, this an inhibition
Kamikaze everybody, Eminem edition
