Genius, the website that is much more than just a lyrics database, published their end-of-the-year review introducing Eminem in both Top Artists and Top Songs charts.
“Each day, millions of music fans come to Genius to read lyrics and learn about their favorite artists—our Top Songs Chart reflects what the world is listening to all day, every day”, – this is how Genius introduced their review and the numbers they draw upon really do not leave much space to argue with the validity of their results.
So to the charts. In the Top Artists list Eminem holds the 4th position with over 20 million views of his lyrics this year. The only other rapper in Top 5 of this list is late XXXTentacion. Drake, Kanye West, Post Malone, Tyler The Creator, Kendrick Lamar and other praised artists did not manage to catch up with Marshall.
This year Eminem did not release any solo records still he made into Genius songs chart with two entries. The first is his collaboration with Logic “Homicide” that has gained almost 3 million views and is placed on the third position in this chart. The second is epic “Rap God” with a little bit under 2 million views.
