Eminem Goes to Comic Con

The new Eminem x NERDS collaboration will launch at New York Comic Con this week. The project includes a limited-edition streetwear collection, custom mini-arcades, and an original video game.

The video game, “Marshall’s Massacre”, was created specifically for this partnership by Fan Arcade, a company specialising in interactive gaming experiences for brands and major artists. It is already available at marshallsmassacre.com. It is a simple arcade-style game built around a three-lane mechanic, with little emphasis on narrative or complexity. A link on the game screen takes players directly to Eminem’s official online shop.

You won’t find the new line there, as it will launch at New York Comic Con and be available exclusively from the NERDS Clothing booth. It will include:

NERDS x Eminem limited-edition skate deck
NERDS x Eminem limited-edition long-sleeve tee
NERDS x Eminem lightweight bomber jacket

A special addition to the line is a set of custom-made mini-arcade cabinets by New York artist Danny Cortes.

Over the years, NERDS Clothing has built a reputation as a company that bridges the gap between street and nerd culture. Eminem is not NERDS Clothing’s first hip hop collaboration. The company previously worked with CZARFACE, the hip hop supergroup formed by 7L & Esoteric and Wu-Tang Clan member Inspectah Deck.

However, this project seems particularly special to NERDS Clothing CEO Eric Medina. Complex quotes his statement:

If you were to tell me that an overnight idea to create NERDS would turn into a collaboration with the biggest hip-hop artist in the world years later, I wouldn’t believe you. I’m excited to have this opportunity and to showcase my creativity and passion with the Shady Records team. I’m really proud of what we’ve been able to create around it.

New York Comic Con opens on October 8, but DJ Whoo Kid has already got his hands on one of the new Shady jackets.

That’s out of our reach, but we had a blast playing the game on livestream and bringing the score above 1,000.

And if you liked the 8-bit version of “Kill You”, you can listen to it here:
