The Grammy-winning gothic alternative metal band Evanescence have released its new album, Sanctuary, which includes “Forever Without You”, with music composed by Skylar Grey and lyrics by Amy Lee.
Skylar celebrated the release by posting photos alongside the band and its lead vocalist, Amy Lee. Skylar captioned them with an emotional message:

“Forever Without You” is the title of a ballad she co-wrote with Amy Lee. Skylar has a composing credit on the song, and indeed, the gentle chord progression tugging on all the right heartstrings bears a recognisable Skylar signature. It, however, feels new and fresh in symbiosis with Lee’s powerful lyrics and vocals.
Since the very beginning of her career, and especially since the 2003 single “Bring Me to Life”, Amy Lee is known for her phenomenal vocal and emotional range. The minimalist piano arrangement allows this ability to shine on “Forever Without You”. It highlights Amy moving effortlessly between soft, breathy, almost conversational parts and the soaring clarity of her upper register.
The chemistry between two creative voices on “Forever Without You” is captivating and shows once again how easily Skylar adapts her songwriting to different artists and styles wthout losing her own identity as an artist.
