According to news reports, Eminem’s former wife, Kim Scott, got in trouble again. She might be facing misdemeanour and DUI charges after a car crash involving her teenage son and his friends.
TMZ was first to report on the incident. The outlet claims that they have obtained court records confirming that Kim has been charged with driving a vehicle while intoxicated and failing to stop or identify after causing property damage. Their account is the only one available at the moment.
Black Monday
Reportedly, the events took place on Monday evening, February 16. According to sources quoted by TMZ, Kim left her home with her son and three of his friends to go shopping.
However, as soon as she left, she drove into the car parked on the same street. Instead of stopping and following the procedure, she kept driving. Fortunately, she did not continue her journey as she tried to pull back into her driveway. Nevertheless, the second incident happened when she crashed into her own garage door.
A neighbour who witnessed the incident called the police. When officers arrived, Kim was taken to hospital with injuries and discharged the following morning.
The photos show a smashed headlight and a partially ripped off bumper of Kim’s white Range Rover, as well as a caved-in garage door. The damage does not look catastrophic, but it has certainly become a cause for concern.
Legal Situation
Under Michigan laws, both alleged charges are classified as misdemeanours. Driving under the influence can result in fines, licence suspension and possible jail time, depending on the circumstances and the pre-existing police record. And we know that for Kim, this run-in with the law is far from the first.
Meanwhile, Scott’s attorney, Michael Smith, told TMZ that he doesn’t know about any active warrants issued for her. However, he adds, if a warrant is issued, Kim will turn herself in. The lawyer has only good words for his client, calling Kim “a good person, a beautiful human being” and admitting that the situation is unfortunate.

Kim’s name is integral to Eminem’s music and public persona. Their relationship impacted Em’s storytelling and is forever reflected in some of his most personal and visceral lyrics. Often, his song titled “Kim” is brought up as an example of a pathologically detailed description of violence in music. And it is brutal. As brutal as the unflinching account of a person battling his demons in public can be. Despite all of that, Marshall married Kim. Twice. And then left this relationship with three children, dead bent on bringing them up in a stable and loving home, away from drama. But the drama keeps following Kim to this day.
