Eminem was back at Ford Field this weekend to watch the Detroit Lions take on the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday.

As one of the team’s most visible celebrity supporters, he sat in the stands with close friends and family, including manager Paul Rosenberg.

He wore custom blue Cartier sunglasses, known in Detroit as “Buffs”, a nod to local fashion and team colours. The pair, gifted by Royce 5’9 for Eminem’s birthday, added a personal touch to his Lions-themed look.

Lions Lose After Costly Penalties

The game itself ended in disappointment for Detroit fans. The Lions lost 29–24 after two offensive pass interference calls in the final moments of the game erased potential game-winning scores.

Coach Dan Campbell addressed the loss candidly in the post-game interview. “We weren’t able to close it out. And at the end of the day, that’s on us. We did that”, he said.

The Lions defence gave up 481 total yards, including three touchdowns of over 45 yards. Despite a late-game surge and a missed field goal by the Steelers that gave Detroit one last opportunity, penalties halted the comeback.

An OPI call on rookie Isaac TeSlaa nullified a touchdown by Amon-Ra St. Brown with 22 seconds left. On the final play, a backward pass from St. Brown to Jared Goff ended in the end zone, but was ultimately voided due to the previous foul. According to the rules, the offensive penalty ended the game immediately without an additional down.

Playoffs In Danger

The loss puts the Lions’ playoff hopes in jeopardy. According to Next Gen Stats, their chance of reaching the postseason now stands at just 8%. They would need to win both of their remaining games and hope for specific losses from Green Bay.

For Eminem, who has supported the Lions through years of struggles and near misses, Sunday’s loss was another chapter in a long-standing relationship with the team. Whether it’s a win or a loss, his presence at Ford Field shows his commitment to Detroit football remains strong.
