Between hyping up Jelly Roll and saying goodbye to 47,000 fans, Eminem paused to send love to Hailie and Evan, giving fans a glimpse of the proud dad behind the mic.
“Long time no see. Detroit, one more time, make some noise for Jelly Roll, y’all. Hailie and Evan, happy anniversary, I love y’all. I’m out of here. Detroit, I love you. Peace”.
That was Eminem’s heartfelt message to the crowd at Ford Field — and to his daughter Hailie and her husband Evan, who tied the knot in a private ceremony last May. Surrounded by close family and friends, Hailie’s wedding featured one especially touching moment: her father, a proud and emotional Eminem, dancing with her as she walked into a new chapter of life.
While he did not mention it on stage, Hailie has since become a mother, making Eminem a grandfather. Not that you would guess it by looking at him. The man who stepped out with Jelly Roll Sunday night looked every bit the Rap God — sharp, commanding, and in total control.
The crowd roared as he exited, a deafening sendoff for Detroit’s own legend.
