The Detroit rapper says “The Slim Shady LP” was the first CD he bought. He could not even dream about being featured in its sequel.
“Tobey”, Marshall’s new single for “The Death Of Slim Shady”, features two Detroit natives —BabyTron, a newcomer to the Shady kingdom, and Big Sean, an experienced operator with four joints bagged already.
But apparently, it doesn’t get less emotional for Big Sean with time. This latest collaboration has a very special meaning for the rapper, he admitted on his socials:
Not gon hold you, Slim Shady LP was the first CD i bought wit my own money at Costco. Me n Em bout 4 songs in now (DVE, No Favors, Detroit 2 cypher) but being on the Death Of Slim Shady is full circle. I aint know when i bought that, that id be one of the next 1’s out da city…
Let alone even know Em. A reminder to myself of how real unrealistic really is
The chances are, it is no less emotional for Eminem himself, who has his goal set early on in the game: to lift and inspire new generations. Or, how he rapped on “Tobey”,
I hope that I inspire hope
