MoneyBagg who? The MMA No.1 lightweight of all time doesn’t know him, or Drake, or Future. He knows Eminem, Fifty, Tupac and DMX, though, and he has not lost a single fight in his professional career.
During a recent appearance on the Full Send podcast, Khabib Nurmagomedov admitted he had no clue who showed up at the UFC 229 weigh-in alongside Conor McGregor:
Honestly, I swear I don’t even [know who Drake was]… Before, when he was in the corner of Conor, people said this guy is very famous. I swear I didn’t know this guy.
Clearly, Khabib was so unimpressed that he defeated the Irishman in the fourth round via submission. Hosts couldn’t believe that a fighter from Dagestan had no idea who Drake was. Surely, they assumed, he heard his music bumping at every corner. Khabib agreed that he might have heard something, but it did not register with him at all:
I don’t know this guy. Maybe I heard his music somewhere in the street or something, but I didn’t know this guy.
If he does not know Drake, Future and MoneyBagg Yo, he might be a closeted Taylor Swift fan, suggested a host, but Khabib set things straight:
Of course, I know rap. Before, when I was young [I listened to] Eminem, 50 Cent, DMX, Tupac. But I’m going to be honest, I don’t play music anymore.
