Almost half a year in 2020 Billboard presented the list of the 50 Best Albums of the year so far. What this list shows, first of all, it is a shameless bias that blinds a supposedly reputable publication.
Eminem’s latest album “Music To Be Murdered By” was not mentioned in the article at all. It shows staff picks of some fringe artists as well as super successful chart-toppers. You can find there all these albums that made it to the top 10 of the biggest Spotify debuts of the year and biggest first-week sales of the year, you will see the same names again and again: The Weeknd, BTS, Lil Uzi Vert, Lady Gaga, Halsey, Justin Bieber, Drake, Lil Baby. You will not see the best selling hip-hop album of the year in pure sales, the album that holds the fourth place on the list of the biggest US debut sales this year, the album that is the third biggest Spotify debut this year, the album that holds the seventh place on the HitdsDailyDouble list of year-to-date activity.
In other words, you will not find Eminem’s “Music To Be Murdered By” on this list.
