D.A. Got That Dope credited on three tracks from Eminem’s latest release “Music To Be Murdered By”, including the most successful “Godzilla” that has also become the first posthumous Juice WRLD’s record.
Genius News got some insights from D.A. on what was his contribution to the production:
It was through my guy Steven Victor. Steven just hit me and said: “Send some beats for Eminem”. A month or so later he said: “Send another pack”. Between the two packs maybe 30 beats. There’s something about the playfulness of it but it was still hard. It had kind of like a hit sound to it that I thought fit Em. The openness of the track that puts the focus on the rapper. The bass line was like playful, almost feel good.
D.A. was not involved in final production so he only heard the record before its official release and could hardly believe the results:
Somebody from Shady Records came over to my house to play me the joints that I produce on the album. I just remember thinking like, “Is he speeding up his raps or something? How does Em rap that fast?”
