“8 Mile: Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture” turns 20 years this Friday, and Shady Records is ready to give us all a present.

Eminem executive produced this album together with film director Brian Grazer. He also worked on production for some tracks. Only some of them, obviously, as this compilation features works from such big names as Jay-Z, Rakim, Nas and Macy Gray. There are also contributions from Xzibit, Obie Trice and 50 Cent.

The album is not the most popular release on Spotify. Of course, “Lose Yourself” shows spectacular numbers, having hit 1.5 billion streams recently, but there is no other song on “8 Mile” that has reached a 100 million streams milestone. The second most streamed track on the project is 50 Cent’s “Wanksta” (63 million streams).

Hopefully, a new edition will attract more attention to the project and even, dare we say, will have some previously unreleased music.

Nothing in the official announcement can give us any idea of exactly what is being released. The only indication of the label’s activity we have is Marshall’s social media post:

“I’m still standing here screaming “f*** the Free World.”” #8Mile 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the soundtrack drops on streaming Friday!
