It’s been a while since Fifty released anything but theme songs for his own TV shows. The current culture is the reason, he says.

Fifty is never short for ideas, he has stories to tell, but he also wants people to listen, and this task is getting more and more tedious.

50 Cent touched on this topic in the conversation with Brian J. Roberts:

Hip hop and youth culture love things that are damaged by the experience. They listen to it, how beautiful it sounds. But they pick things that are damaged. I said, “I’ll take you to the candy shop”. She says, “WAP, wet ass pussy”. That’s what the song is called. Right now, what am I supposed to say for shock value? That’s why it’s taking a little longer for me to come up with new music.

It does not mean that Fifty couldn’t figure out how to shock a listener into attention. But neither he wants to come out too hard and scare people from doing business with him. It will take some time to find the right balance, but surely, 50 Cent, with his feral sense of actuality, will get there.
