The end of the year statistics are provided by YouTube and it seems like 2020 was a good year for Eminem. “Godzilla” was his most popular video and people were listening to Eminem in London more than anywhere else.
Marshall’s added 4.71 billion views to his lifetime streams on the platform. The chart shows that there was not a day this year when Eminem banked fewer than 10 million views. There are four obvious spikes on the graph that coincide with Eminem’s activity. The first one and the biggest was registered in January when over 41 million people flocked to YouTube on the day of MTBMB release. The second peak of the audience interest was in response to “Godzilla” video release – almost 25 million people tuned in worldwide on March 10. The day when Kid Cudi dropped his joint with Em “The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady” registered 15 million views to Eminem records. And the last peak of 2020 was recorded just recently when the release of M2BMB was supported by “Gnat” video release.
This year Marshall extended his list of the videos with astronomical numbers. “Love The Way You Lie” earned 2 billion views, and two more Eminem’s videos joined 1 billion club – “Rap God” in February and “Without Me” in November. “Lose Yourself” just hit 1 billion views milestone but because it is not an official video, it will only count as fan-video activity and won’t affect the charts.
YouTube also shows how widely Eminem fans are spread around the world. Of course, his main audience resides in the United States and brings him the biggest share of views. In 2020 American fans clocked in over 1,32 billion views. The UK shows the second-best result with 263 million views. And then hundreds of millions come from Brazil, Mexico, Canada, India, Germany, France, Italy and Australia.
