This is the first Eminem’s nomination for the VMA Best Video in a decade.

Eminem remains the most nominated artist in the VMA’s most important category. Throughout his career, Marshall has received eight nominations for the Best Video of the Year, including one as a member of D12 with “My Band” in 2004. He won twice with “The Real Slim Shady” in 2000 and “Without Me” in 2002. Videos for “Stan” (2001), “Lose Yourself” (2003), “We Made You” (2009) and “Not Afraid” (2010) were nominated and missed on the award.

Overall, since 1999, Eminem has received 41 VMA nominations and won 13 out of them.

This year Marshall faces tough competition in both categories, going against young artists of the streaming era:
